Giving Tuesday!

This Giving Tuesday, we want to shine a light on the continued challenges women and girls face in accessing safe and nutritious food and the unique role food banks play in addressing this urgent need.

Of the 345 million people who are severely hungry in the world today, nearly 60% of them are women and girls.

Often with women leading the way, food banks are creating lasting initiatives that go beyond food distribution, including:

  • School feeding programs to help mothers save money for other household needs and help girls stay in the classroom rather than working outside the home
  • Maternal and infant health programs to help young mothers thrive and give their babies a healthy start
  • Economic empowerment programs to train, upskill, and support women in gaining financial independence

This Giving Tuesday, when you donate to GFN your gift will be doubled by a generous anonymous donor, up to $20,000!

When you make a gift to GFN this Giving Tuesday, you are investing in hunger solutions on a global scale. GFN supports sustainable food bank models rather than offering short-term fixes. This means your donation can have a lasting impact on women’s access to food security.

Women are the essential backbones that provide support for the family... From my interactions with these women, I get to see their resilience — they’re very determined to want the best for themselves and their families... It just encourages me to put in the extra effort to serve them in the best way.
