1. The Honorable Leni Robredo, former vice president of the Philippines

Leni Robredo, former vice president of the Philippines, has dedicated her career to improving the lives of the underserved. As the leader of the anti-poverty initiative Angat Buhay, she spearheaded projects that addressed public education, rural development, food security, and women’s empowerment. Her work has touched over 500,000 lives. After her vice presidency, she established the Buhay Foundation to continue these efforts, maintaining her commitment to social change and community development.

2. John Gathungu, executive director and co-founder, Food Banking Kenya

As the executive director and co-founder of Food Banking Kenya (FBK), John Gathungu has played a vital role in combating hunger through effective food banking strategies. 3. Fiona Simson, chair and commissioner, Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR)

Simson currently serves as the chair and commissioner of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research

4. Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg, senior fellow, Ford Foundation

6. Mariana Jiménez Cárdenas, CEO, Red de Bancos de Alimentos de México

Mariana Jiménez Cárdenas is a leading voice in community nutrition and food security. As CEO of the Red de Bancos de Alimentos de México, she has spearheaded efforts to enhance nutritional support and food sovereignty. Her extensive experience in nutrition and clinical dietetics have empowered her to make significant impact on food security in Mexico.

7. Shenggen Fan, chair professor, China Agricultural University

Dr. Shenggen Fan, chair professor at China Agricultural University and former director general of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is a renowned expert in food and nutrition security. His contributions, including his roles with the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement and the World Economic Forum, have earned him accolades such as the Hunger Hero Award and also serves on GFN’s Board of Directors. Fan’s expertise and commitment are pivotal in addressing global food challenges.

8. Nidhi Pundhir, vice president, global CSR, HCLTech & director, HCL Foundation

Dr. Nidhi Pundhir leads HCLTech’s global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda with a focus on poverty alleviation and environmental sustainability. Her work has garnered several awards, including the National CSR Award for Slum Area Development. Pundhir’s innovative approach and dedication to high-quality program delivery are making a difference in the lives of disadvantaged communities who HLTech supports.

9. Jomar Fleras, executive director, Rise Against Hunger Philippines

Jomar Fleras, executive director of Rise Against Hunger Philippines, brings over 25 years of experience in food and nutrition security programs. His extensive background includes managing projects funded by major international organizations and working across various countries. Fleras’ expertise in public health and development ensures impactful and effective programs addressing hunger and malnutrition.

10. Gonzalo Muñoz, high-level climate action champion, UN COP 25

Gonzalo Muñoz is a trailblazer in environmental innovation and waste management. His work with TriCiclos promotes circular economy solutions across Latin America, and his role as UN high-level climate champion at COP25 highlights his commitment to climate action. Muñoz’s efforts through Sistema B further advocate for an inclusive and regenerative economic system, reflecting his passion for sustainable development. He also serves on GFN’s Board of Directors.
